Understanding the impact of Language – The Core of the Human Culture that shaped the status of the Ummah.
Background:
It is a fundamental aspect of human nature that children absorb and internalize the culture of the language they learn. As they are taught English, for instance, they are not merely acquiring a means of communication but also unknowingly adopting the cultural norms and values of the Western world. Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam, cautioned the Ummah with the saying: “Whoever follows a people, he is one of them.” This warning highlights the subtle but powerful consequences of following a culture other than that of Islamic. And it is said that ‘Language is culture’. It is the language that influences the culture thereby shaping one’s identity and worldview.
Therefore, it is imperative for a Muslim child to embrace and internalize the Islamic culture from an early age, for it is only through this they will be safeguarded from the allure and influence of foreign cultures and lifestyles, Bi-Iznillah. The foundation of Islamic culture offers a comprehensive way of life that protects the Muslim from veering off the path set by Allah Ajja Wa Jalla and His Messenger Sallallahu A’laihi Wa Sallam.
Our Response:
In this light, the learning of the Arabic language serves as an automatic safeguard—a protective barrier against the infiltration of foreign ideologies. Arabic, being the language of the Qur’an and the Sunnah, inherently connects the child to the purest form of Islamic culture. By instilling this language in our youth, we not only preserve their religious identity but also ease their journey towards Jannah, EnshaAllah.
Vision:
Our vision is to cultivate a generation of Muslim youth who are deeply rooted in their faith, proficient in the language of the Qur’an, and unshakable in their commitment to the Islamic way of life. Through the power of the Arabic language, we aim to guide them towards an understanding of their Deen that transcends cultural influences, fostering an unwavering connection to their Creator, Allah and to the rich heritage of Islam. This, in turn, will ensure that the path to Jannah remains clear and accessible to them, by the mercy and grace of Allah.
